Sleep Technologists perform and interpret sleep studies with a higher degree of autonomy and often hold advanced certifications. They collaborate with sleep physicians to tailor treatment plans and support the diagnosis of complex sleep conditions. These professionals may also administer CPAP titration and ensure therapy compliance. Their role is crucial in the long-term management of chronic sleep disorders. They often work in hospitals, sleep centers, and research facilities.
Job Description
- Conduct complex sleep studies and advanced monitoring.
- Apply CPAP, BiPAP, or oxygen therapy as needed.
- Analyze sleep data to aid diagnosis.
- Adjust sleep equipment based on patient response.
- Communicate results to healthcare providers.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with monitoring tools.
- Educate patients about sleep disorder treatments.
