FAQS
What is a nerve conduction study (NCS)?
A nerve conduction study evaluates how quickly electrical signals travel through nerves. It helps diagnose peripheral neuropathy, nerve injuries, and conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome.
What safety precautions are required during neurodiagnostic testing?
Ensure proper equipment calibration, patient comfort, and infection control practices. Monitoring patients with seizure risk is important.
What is polysomnography?
Polysomnography is a sleep study that records brain activity, breathing, and body movements during sleep. It helps diagnose sleep disorders.
What is evoked potential testing?
Evoked potentials measure the brain’s electrical response to sensory stimulation. They help assess nerve pathways.
What is hyperventilation used for during EEG?
