Overview
An Oncologic Surgeon performs surgical procedures to treat various types of cancer. They work with multidisciplinary teams to diagnose, remove tumors, and improve patient survival. Their role includes both curative and palliative surgeries depending on cancer stage. These surgeons often work in cancer centers and tertiary hospitals. They are trained in both general surgery and specialized oncologic techniques.

Job Description
- Assess cancer cases for surgical intervention.
- Perform tumor removal and reconstructive surgeries.
- Work with medical oncologists and radiologists on treatment planning.
- Monitor post-operative recovery and recurrence.
- Educate patients and families about surgical outcomes.
- Conduct research on surgical oncology innovations.
- Maintain surgical records and contribute to tumor boards.
