Overview

The Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examinations (ISFE) are offered by the four royal surgical colleges of England, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Ireland. On passing the specialty fellowship examination, a candidate can join the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) as Fellow. The Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examinations (JCIE) is responsible for the supervision of exam standards, policies, regulations and professional conduct. The applicant must hold a medical qualification recognised for registration by the General Medical Council of UK or the Medical Council of Ireland. Also, the applicant must have been qualified for at least six years.
