IFHNOS Global On Line Fellowship (GOLF)

The IFHNOS Global On Line Fellowship (GOLF) is offered by International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies (IFHNOS). The program has collaborated with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) to develop an On line Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology field. Its goal is to create a program that teach and train young surgeons and test their knowledge and thought processes. It is to create relative uniformity of knowledge base and judgement are measured and certified by specialists, through online education with continuous updating and monitoring of their knowledge base. The GOLF program is open to board-qualified surgeons in their home country, anywhere in the world. The course of study requires self-learning through a structured course 2 year curriculum developed by an international committee of surgeons, and oncologists, including those from MSK, with quarterly online exams. During this fellowship, candidates are required to complete a one month Observership at one of the 35 approved observership sites/ centres around the globe followed by an oral examination before an international panel. After that, upon successful completion of the program, the fellow will receive a certificate. The certification will ensure that the candidates have acquired an established global standard of core knowledge, and matured their judgement process through self education and successful completion of all examinations. The candidates who show outstanding performance on the Written Examination and final Oral Examination are granted the certificate with Honors. Such certificate with Honors may assist in advancement of academic careers.
