Overview
The Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) is responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing the entire supply chain network of an organization. This includes procurement, warehousing, inventory control, logistics, distribution, vendor coordination, demand forecasting, and cost optimization. The goal is to ensure that the right materials and products reach the right place at the right time while maintaining efficiency, quality, and profitability.
The Head SCM works closely with operations, finance, production, sales, purchasing, and logistics teams. They develop strategies to reduce supply costs, improve delivery timelines, strengthen supplier relationships, and manage risk. Job Description
- Lead and oversee the entire supply chain function, ensuring smooth operations and efficiency across procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the supply chain, aligning with organizational goals and ensuring cost
- effectiveness while maintaining quality standards
- Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts, ensure timely delivery of goods, and maintain quality control standards
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimize shortages and excesses, optimizing inventory turnover and ensuring availability of critical supplies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to procurement, storage, and distribution of healthcare supplies and equipment
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, such as supply shortages, price fluctuations, and logistics challenges, to ensure continuity of operations
- Build and lead a high performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability
