Overview
A Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) delivers high-level emergency care to critically ill patients during transport. They work in ambulances, helicopters, or specialized units, often responding to trauma and life-threatening conditions. Equipped with advanced medical knowledge and quick decision-making skills, they stabilize patients before reaching a hospital. MICPs bridge the gap between accident scenes and hospital ICUs. Job Description
- Provide advanced life support to critical patients during transport.
- Operate defibrillators, ventilators, and medication infusion systems.
- Monitor patient vitals and adjust interventions accordingly.
- Coordinate with emergency rooms, trauma teams, and dispatch centers.
- Maintain equipment and stock in mobile ICU units.
- Document clinical procedures and patient condition thoroughly.
- Participate in emergency drills and continuing medical education.
