An EMT Trainer is a certified professional responsible for teaching and preparing students to become Emergency Medical Technicians. They provide both classroom instruction and hands-on skills training in emergency medical care, often following state or national EMS education standards.
Job Description
- Teach EMT curriculum covering emergency response, trauma care, airway management, and patient assessment.
- Conduct skills labs and simulations for CPR, bleeding control, spinal immobilization, and more.
- Prepare students for certification exams through written tests and practical evaluations.
- Demonstrate proper use of EMS equipment such as stretchers, oxygen tanks, and defibrillators.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Stay updated with EMS protocols and guidelines through continuing education.
- Ensure compliance with accrediting bodies and maintain detailed training records.
