Overview
An Orthopaedic Assistant works closely with orthopaedic surgeons and medical professionals to support patient care involving bones, joints, and muscles. They assist during surgical procedures, apply and remove casts or splints, and help in patient rehabilitation. The role requires both clinical and technical skills to manage orthopaedic equipment and monitor patient progress. They play a vital part in post-operative care and recovery support. This position is essential in hospitals, trauma centers, and orthopaedic clinics.

Job Description
- Assist orthopaedic doctors in examinations, surgeries, and routine procedures.
- Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, and braces as per medical directions.
- Support in managing orthopaedic tools and maintaining sterilization protocols.
- Help in the preparation and positioning of patients before surgery or treatment.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and use of orthopaedic supports.
- Maintain detailed records of patient progress and treatment responses.
- Coordinate with physiotherapists and nursing teams for rehabilitation support.
