An Orthopedic Oncologist treats cancers of the bones, joints, and soft tissues. They perform surgeries to remove tumors while preserving as much mobility and function as possible. Their patients often include those with primary bone cancers like osteosarcoma or metastatic bone diseases. Their interdisciplinary approach combines orthopedic surgery with oncology, radiology, and rehabilitation.

Job Description
- Diagnose and treat malignant bone and soft tissue tumors.
- Perform limb-salvage or reconstructive surgeries.
- Collaborate with medical and radiation oncologists.
- Monitor treatment response through imaging and lab markers.
- Counsel patients and families about prognosis and care plans.
- Conduct tumor board meetings for case discussions.
- Lead orthopedic oncology fellowships and clinical studies.
