Overview
The Nuclear Medicine Advance Associate (NMAA) Examination is conducted by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). The NMTCB has formed for the purpose of creating and maintaining examinations for nuclear medicine technologists (NMTs). The organization is based at Tucker in Georgia state of USA. The NMAA is a physician extender working under the supervision of a licensed physician, who is also an authorized user of Radioactive materials and to enhance patient care in the diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy environment. The NMAA Exam is a time-limited exam, on successful completion, candidate's certification will last for 10 (ten) years from the exam date, and will expire thereafter. In order to recertify, the certificant must pass a recertification exam in order to maintain this credential. The NMAA certificants are allowed to take the recertification exam at any time between 8-10 years of their current certification period.
