FAQS
How should preventive maintenance schedules be developed?
Equipment criticality, manufacturer recommendations, operating hours, failure history, and production requirements should be considered. Maintenance frequencies should be reviewed periodically based on equipment performance and failure trends.
How should maintenance activities be prioritized when resources are limited?
Equipment criticality, safety risks, production impact, regulatory requirements, breakdown severity, and available resources should be evaluated. Critical assets should receive priority while routine activities are scheduled appropriately.
How should a planned plant shutdown be managed?
The maintenance scope, equipment list, manpower, contractors, spare parts, tools, safety permits, and completion timelines should be finalized in advance. Progress should be monitored closely to complete critical work within the shutdown window.
How should a contractor's maintenance work be evaluated?
The contractor's technical performance, safety compliance, quality of work, completion time, documentation, and adherence to contractual requirements should be reviewed. Poor performance should be documented and addressed through appropriate corrective measures.
