Overview
A Production Chemist oversees and coordinates the manufacturing processes of chemicals, ensuring quality control, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient production in line with industry standards. They play a vital role in the production of various chemical products.
Job Description
- Responsible for conducting research and laboratory experiments to identify chemical resources that support the manufacturing of industrial products
- To support production of manufactured parts for biomedical devices, including formulation of buffers, polymers, reagents, and nitrocellulose coated slides
- Work alongside production specialists to maintain an aggressive production schedule
- Assist for identifying new processes and equipment needs to improve efficiency and profitability
- Training of Production Specialists and new Chemists in processes, procedures, and documentation
- Execute all production functions with strict quality guidelines
- Perform Quality Control testing on nitrocellulose film slides, buffers, and reagents to assure continuous quality
- Perform staging of raw materials and formulation of reagent bulks or constituents
- Monitoring inventory of raw materials to support timely and efficient production
- To maintain detailed device history records and maintaining training logs
- To ensure proper transportation, handling, and disposal of hazardous, biohazardous and/or infectious substances
- Operation and calibration of all general lab equipment
- Equipment set up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance for lab equipment
