Job Description
  1. Investigate plant genes and molecular pathways involved in growth, development, stress response, and metabolism.
  2. Use molecular biology tools (e.g., PCR, cloning, CRISPR, qPCR) to manipulate and study gene function in plants.
  3. Analyze gene expression using transcriptomics, RNA sequencing, and real-time PCR.
  4. Conduct functional genomics studies to identify genes responsible for specific traits like drought tolerance or disease resistance.
  5. Collaborate with geneticists, breeders, and bioinformaticians to translate molecular findings into crop improvement.
  6. Maintain and manage laboratory experiments including transgenic plant development, tissue culture, and phenotyping.
  7. Publish research findings in scientific journals and contribute to academic, industrial, or applied agricultural research.
