Job Description
  1. Sample Collection and Preparation – Collect biological samples (e.g., blood, tissue, urine) and prepare them for laboratory testing, ensuring all samples are correctly labeled and stored.
  2. Microscopic Analysis – Prepare slides for microscopic examination, stain tissue samples, and assist pathologists in analyzing the samples for abnormalities such as cancerous cells or infections.
  3. Test Performance and Analysis – Conduct laboratory tests and procedures such as histology, cytology, and hematology to assist in the diagnosis of diseases.
  4. Equipment Maintenance – Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers, ensuring they are functioning correctly and safely.
  5. Data Recording and Reporting – Record and maintain accurate patient information and test results, ensuring that all data is clear, accurate, and organized for review by pathologists.
  6. Quality Control and Compliance – Follow strict protocols and guidelines for quality control, ensuring that all procedures meet medical and safety standards, and assisting with audits and inspections.
  7. Collaboration with Medical Staff – Work closely with pathologists, laboratory technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the diagnostic process.
