A Pathology Technician is a healthcare professional who works in medical laboratories to assist in the diagnosis of diseases by preparing, analyzing, and processing tissue, blood, and other biological samples. They work closely with pathologists, performing essential tasks that help detect, monitor, and study various health conditions such as cancer, infections, and genetic disorders. The technician plays a vital role in preparing slides for microscopic examination, processing laboratory tests, and ensuring that the equipment and procedures comply with strict medical and safety standards.

Job Description
- Sample Collection and Preparation – Collect biological samples (e.g., blood, tissue, urine) and prepare them for laboratory testing, ensuring all samples are correctly labeled and stored.
- Microscopic Analysis – Prepare slides for microscopic examination, stain tissue samples, and assist pathologists in analyzing the samples for abnormalities such as cancerous cells or infections.
- Test Performance and Analysis – Conduct laboratory tests and procedures such as histology, cytology, and hematology to assist in the diagnosis of diseases.
- Equipment Maintenance – Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers, ensuring they are functioning correctly and safely.
- Data Recording and Reporting – Record and maintain accurate patient information and test results, ensuring that all data is clear, accurate, and organized for review by pathologists.
- Quality Control and Compliance – Follow strict protocols and guidelines for quality control, ensuring that all procedures meet medical and safety standards, and assisting with audits and inspections.
- Collaboration with Medical Staff – Work closely with pathologists, laboratory technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the diagnostic process.
