A Neuropsychologist specializes in understanding the relationship between the brain and behavior. They assess and diagnose cognitive, emotional, and behavioral issues resulting from brain injury, neurological disorders, or diseases such as dementia. Using a range of psychological tests, neuropsychologists evaluate cognitive functions like memory, attention, language, and problem-solving to guide treatment plans and rehabilitation strategies.

Job Description
- Conduct neuropsychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functions in individuals with neurological conditions such as brain injury, stroke, dementia, or neurodegenerative diseases.
- Diagnose cognitive impairments and mental health disorders through standardized testing, clinical interviews, and behavioral observations, and develop treatment recommendations.
- Develop personalized treatment plans, collaborating with neurologists, psychiatrists, and therapists to address cognitive deficits, emotional distress, and behavioral issues.
- Monitor and track cognitive changes over time, offering insights into the progression of neurological disorders and helping guide care strategies for patients and their families.
- Provide counseling and psychological support to patients and families, helping them understand the implications of neurological disorders and coping mechanisms.
- Offer rehabilitation strategies for improving memory, attention, problem-solving, and other cognitive functions, working with patients in individual or group settings.
- Stay current with advances in neuropsychological research, integrating the latest tools, therapies, and techniques into practice to enhance patient outcomes.
