A Neurodevelopmental Researcher studies how the brain and nervous system develop, particularly in infants, children, and adolescents. Job Description
- Conduct research on brain development from prenatal stages through adolescence, using techniques like neuroimaging, behavioral studies, and genetic analysis.
- Study neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and epilepsy to understand causes and developmental trajectories.
- Design and run clinical or laboratory-based studies, including longitudinal research to track brain and cognitive development over time.
- Analyze data from brain scans, behavioral assessments, and neuropsychological tests to identify patterns and anomalies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including neurologists, psychologists, geneticists, and pediatricians.
- Publish research findings in scientific journals and present at academic conferences to contribute to the broader scientific community.
- Seek funding and grants to support ongoing research and explore new areas in neurodevelopmental science.
