A Liposuction Specialist is a medical doctor—often trained in plastic surgery, dermatology, or cosmetic surgery—who focuses on removing excess body fat through minimally invasive techniques. The goal is to reshape and contour specific areas of the body for improved aesthetics rather than weight loss.
Job Description
- Perform various liposuction techniques, such as tumescent, ultrasound-assisted (VASER), laser-assisted (SmartLipo), or power-assisted liposuction.
- Assess patient goals and body areas, creating personalized treatment plans based on anatomy and desired outcomes.
- Ensure patient safety and manage risks, including fluid balance, anesthesia care, and prevention of complications (e.g., infection, contour irregularities).
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care, including compression garment use, follow-up visits, and recovery guidance.
- Combine liposuction with other procedures when needed, such as fat transfer (e.g., Brazilian Butt Lift) or tummy tucks.
- Stay current with evolving technologies, techniques, and safety protocols through continuing education and aesthetic surgery forums.
