Job Description
  1. Diagnose and treat STIs and related conditions, using lab tests, physical exams, and patient history.
  2. Provide counseling and education on safe sex practices, risk reduction, and partner notification.
  3. Manage chronic or recurrent infections, such as genital herpes or HIV, often in collaboration with infectious disease specialists.
  4. Perform screenings and contact tracing, especially in high-risk populations or outbreak settings.
  5. Prescribe and monitor treatments, including antibiotics, antivirals, and preventive measures like PrEP.
  6. Educate patients on reproductive and sexual health, including fertility issues and STI prevention in pregnancy.
  7. Work with public health agencies to track, report, and prevent STI outbreaks and promote community awareness.
