FAQS

How is breathing efficiency assessed in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation?

Assessment may include respiratory rate, chest expansion, oxygen saturation, exercise tolerance, cough effectiveness, and fatigue level. Functional limitations are also reviewed. Findings guide treatment planning. Monitoring is ongoing during sessions.

What airway clearance techniques are commonly used?

Techniques may include positioning, breathing control exercises, percussion support, huff coughing, and device-assisted clearance when prescribed. These methods help mobilize secretions. Improved airway clearance can ease breathing. Proper technique is important.

Why is graded exercise training valuable in cardiac recovery?

Graded exercise helps improve endurance, circulation, confidence, and functional capacity after cardiac events. Sudden overload should be avoided. Programs are progressed carefully based on tolerance. Monitoring vital signs is essential.

How are oxygen-dependent patients managed during therapy?

Sessions require monitoring saturation levels, safe tubing management, pacing activities, and rest intervals. Coordination with medical orders is necessary. Overexertion must be avoided. Close supervision improves safety.

What warning signs require stopping a session immediately?

Chest pain, severe breathlessness, dizziness, cyanosis, abnormal heart response, or sudden weakness require immediate attention. Therapy should pause for reassessment. Rapid escalation may need emergency care. Safety protocols are critical.
