Job Description
- Sexual Health Education
- Design and deliver educational programs on sexual health topics, including reproductive health, STIs, contraception, consent, healthy relationships, sexual orientation, and gender identity. These programs may be aimed at various groups, including youth, adults, or marginalized communities.
- Promote Healthy Sexual Practices
- Advocate for safe sexual practices, including the consistent and correct use of contraception, condom use, and regular STI testing. Educate individuals on how to prevent unwanted pregnancies and STIs, and raise awareness about the importance of sexual consent.
- Counseling and Support
- Provide one-on-one counseling and support for individuals who have questions or concerns about their sexual health. This could include discussing issues such as sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship dynamics, sexual dysfunction, or navigating issues related to consent and coercion.
- Community Outreach and Advocacy
- Conduct community outreach activities to spread awareness of sexual health issues, particularly in under-served or vulnerable populations. Partner with local organizations, clinics, and schools to ensure accurate information and resources are available to those who need them most.
- Develop Educational Materials
- Create accessible and culturally appropriate educational materials (brochures, posters, videos, online content) to raise awareness and provide information on sexual health topics. Ensure that these materials reflect diverse experiences and are inclusive of various sexual orientations and gender identities.
- Workshops and Training Programs
- Organize and facilitate workshops and training programs on topics such as sexual consent, STI prevention, healthy relationships, and gender inclusivity for schools, workplaces, and community groups. Empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to engage in healthy sexual behaviors and relationships.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Providers
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and mental health counselors, to ensure a comprehensive approach to sexual health. Provide referrals to specialized services such as STI testing, contraception, or mental health counseling when needed.
