Andrologists often work with patients experiencing infertility, erectile dysfunction, low testosterone levels, or other sexual health concerns. They also address health conditions such as varicocele, prostate health, and issues related to the aging male. Their approach combines expertise in endocrinology, urology, and sexual medicine, providing a comprehensive treatment plan for men struggling with reproductive and sexual health issues.

Job Description
  1. Male Infertility Diagnosis and Treatment
  2. Diagnose and treat male infertility issues, conducting semen analysis, hormonal evaluations, and imaging studies to identify underlying causes of infertility. Andrologists often work with couples trying to conceive, offering treatments such as sperm retrieval, assisted reproductive technologies (ART), and counseling.
  3. Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Management
  4. Assess and manage erectile dysfunction, prescribing treatments such as oral medications (e.g., sildenafil), hormone therapy, or surgical interventions. Andrologists also investigate underlying causes of ED, such as diabetes, vascular health, or psychological factors.
  5. Hormonal Imbalances and Low Testosterone Treatment
  6. Diagnose and treat conditions like hypogonadism (low testosterone) through hormone replacement therapies. Andrologists monitor and adjust testosterone levels, addressing symptoms such as low libido, fatigue, and muscle weakness, and preventing long-term complications like osteoporosis.
  7. Prostate Health
  8. Manage and treat conditions affecting the prostate, including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostate cancer, and prostatitis. Andrologists may conduct prostate exams, recommend biopsies, or prescribe medications or surgical options to manage prostate-related health issues.
  9. Varicocele Treatment
  10. Treat varicocele, a condition where veins within the scrotum become enlarged, leading to male infertility. Andrologists may recommend lifestyle changes, medications, or surgery (e.g., varicocelectomy) to improve fertility outcomes.
  11. Sexual Health Counseling and Therapy
  12. Provide counseling and therapy for men dealing with sexual health issues, including performance anxiety, premature ejaculation, or low libido. Andrologists often collaborate with psychologists or sex therapists to address underlying psychological and relational factors affecting sexual function.
  13. Men’s Health Education and Preventative Care
  14. Offer education on men’s sexual and reproductive health, preventative care, and lifestyle modifications. This may include advising on diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and safe sexual practices to promote long-term sexual and reproductive well-being.
