A Pediatric Pulmonologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating respiratory and lung-related disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. They manage both acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, sleep apnea, and congenital lung diseases.

Job Description
- Diagnose and treat respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, chronic cough, pneumonia, and lung infections.
- Manage complex or chronic lung diseases, including cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, and neuromuscular respiratory failure.
- Conduct diagnostic tests like pulmonary function tests (PFTs), bronchoscopy, and sleep studies to evaluate lung function and airway abnormalities.
- Collaborate with other pediatric specialists, such as allergists, cardiologists, and intensivists, for comprehensive care.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care, including ICU consultation and follow-up in pulmonary clinics.
- Educate families and caregivers on treatment plans, inhaler use, airway clearance techniques, and environmental control.
- Engage in research or teaching, especially in academic centers, to advance knowledge in pediatric respiratory medicine.
