A Pediatric Interventional Radiologist performs minimally invasive procedures on children using image guidance such as ultrasound, CT, or MRI. These procedures are used for diagnosis or treatment without the need for open surgery. Their work includes placing catheters, biopsies, and treating vascular abnormalities. The role requires precision, calm under pressure, and excellent communication with pediatric teams and families.
Job Description
- Perform image-guided procedures in neonates, infants, and adolescents.
- Work closely with pediatricians and surgeons to plan interventions.
- Use imaging to diagnose, treat, and monitor complex conditions.
- Ensure radiation safety and comfort for young patients.
- Document and communicate findings to multidisciplinary teams.
- Train radiology residents in pediatric interventional techniques.
- Innovate safer, quicker, and less invasive diagnostic methods.
