A Pediatric HPB Interventional Radiologist is a physician who specializes in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures on the liver, pancreas, and biliary system in children. This highly specialized role combines pediatric care with advanced interventional radiology techniques to manage complex abdominal diseases in infants, children, and adolescents, often avoiding the need for open surgery.

Job Description
- Perform image-guided procedures such as biliary drainage, percutaneous liver biopsies, tumor ablations, and vascular interventions in pediatric HPB cases.
- Use pediatric-adapted imaging techniques (ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI) to guide precise and safe interventions in small and delicate anatomy.
- Treat congenital and acquired HPB conditions, including biliary atresia, pediatric liver tumors (e.g., hepatoblastoma), and pancreatic cysts or trauma.
- Collaborate with pediatric surgeons, hepatologists, oncologists, and intensivists as part of a multidisciplinary team managing complex pediatric HPB diseases.
- Monitor post-procedure recovery and manage complications, ensuring safe and effective outcomes in pediatric patients.
- Participate in pediatric IR training, innovation, or research, particularly in advancing child-specific tools and protocols for HPB interventions.
