Overview
A Panchakarma Specialist is an Ayurvedic healthcare professional trained in administering Panchakarma, a traditional Indian detoxification and rejuvenation therapy. The term Panchakarma refers to five cleansing procedures designed to eliminate toxins (Ama) from the body, balance the doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), and promote overall health and well-being. Specialists work in Ayurvedic hospitals, wellness centers, or private clinics.

Job Description
- Assess patients using Ayurvedic principles, including pulse diagnosis, tongue examination, and evaluation of dosha imbalances.
- Develop personalized Panchakarma treatment plans, selecting appropriate therapies such as Vamana (emesis), Virechana (purgation), Basti (enema), Nasya (nasal therapy), and Raktamokshana (bloodletting).
- Supervise or perform Panchakarma procedures, ensuring correct technique, hygiene, and patient safety during detox treatments.
- Recommend pre- and post-Panchakarma regimens, including dietary guidelines, herbal supplements, and lifestyle changes.
- Monitor patient progress, adjusting therapies as needed to maximize healing and detoxification while minimizing adverse effects.
- Educate patients about Ayurvedic concepts of health, seasonal cleansing, and the importance of internal balance for disease prevention.
- Collaborate with Ayurvedic doctors and therapists for holistic management of chronic diseases, stress, metabolic disorders, and lifestyle-related conditions.
