Job Description
- Collect blood donations from donors, ensuring proper screening and donor eligibility.
- Perform blood typing and crossmatching to ensure compatibility between blood and recipients.
- Manage the storage and inventory of blood products, ensuring proper labeling, freezing, and handling according to safety standards.
- Test blood for infectious diseases and ensure it meets safety protocols before being used in transfusions.
- Coordinate the distribution of blood and blood products to medical facilities as needed.
- Assist in preparing and administering blood transfusions to patients, ensuring proper protocols are followed.
- Monitor patients during transfusions and respond to any adverse reactions or complications.
- Maintain detailed records of blood donations, transfusion procedures, and patient reactions.
- Educate patients and healthcare staff about blood transfusion procedures and safety.
