A Formulation Development Manager leads the design and optimization of drug formulations, ensuring they are effective, stable, and manufacturable. They translate scientific concepts into practical dosage forms—tablets, capsules, injectables, etc.—while managing cross-functional teams and aligning with regulatory standards.
Job Description
- Lead formulation development projects from concept through scale-up and technology transfer to manufacturing.
- Develop robust, stable, and bioavailable formulations tailored to the drug’s chemical and physical properties.
- Manage a team of formulation scientists and collaborate with analytical, clinical, and regulatory teams to meet project goals.
- Oversee process development and optimization, ensuring formulations can be efficiently manufactured at a commercial scale.
- Prepare technical documentation (batch records, development reports, regulatory dossiers) to support filings and approvals.
