The Board Certified Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) is credential certification program for healthcare professionals that validate the demonstration of expertise in diabetes management. The certified professionals have a scope of practice with adjust medications, treat and monitor acute and chronic complications, provide lifestyle modification counseling, address psychosocial issues, and participate in research and mentoring. The eligibility criteria includes registered nurse, pharmacists, registered dietician, physician assistant or physician. The applicant should have a 500 hours of clinical practice in advanced diabetes management within 48 months prior to taking certification examination. The BC-ADM certification is conducted by Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES).
