WSBF Fellowship Diploma in Lateral Skull Base Surgery (LSBS) is designed and recognized by World Skull Base Foundation (WSBF). It is conducted under the leadership of Dr. Sampath Chandra Prasad Rao, Cranial Base Surgeon, Head & Neck Oncologist, Hearing Implantologist and also Managing Director & CEO of WSBF. It provides training opportunities to doctors and medical professionals in the specialty of Skull Base Surgery. The program organized at Ramaiah Advanced Learning Center, Bengaluru, India which is one of its kind and the first comprehensive curriculum-based training program launched in the specialty of Skull Base Surgery. Consultants, Residents or Fellows in Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery are eligible to register as Dissectors in this program.

What is the curriculum of Lateral Skull Base Surgery (LSBS) Fellowship course?
The course includes over 100 topics, 72 hours of lectures and 37 dissection procedures over 60 hours of dissections in the 2 modules put together.
What is the selection process for WSBF Fellowship course?
The Dissectors & Observers will be selected on a first come first serve basis. Only 25 dissectors will be registered at the Fellowship on a first come first serve basis. Spot registrations will be allowed only for observers to the extent of the number of seats vacant in each category. The Dissectors will be awarded a Fellowship certificate of World Skull Base Foundation.
What is the duration of Skull Base Surgery Fellowship?
World Skull Base Foundation Fellowship Courses are conducted separately in Lateral and Anterior Skull Base Surgery at different times in the year. Lateral Skull Base Surgery has 2 modules of 7 days each, Anterior Skull Base Surgery has 1 module of 11 days.
What are the benefits for Dissectors in WSBF Fellowship course?
All dissectors will be given a resource study kit one month before each of the modules. The dissectors will be awarded the Fellowship Certificate at the end of the course and after successful passing of the exam. The Best Dissector will be awarded a certificate. The dissectors are invited to the official Banquet.
- Each Dissector will be given two large wet and fresh Skull Base bones involving temporal bone articulations.
- Each Dissector will be provided with a fresh cadaver.
- All the dissectors will get a free registration to one of the 2 day live surgical workshops organized by World Skull Base Foundation.
What are the benefits for Observers in WSBF Fellowship course?
Only 50 Observers will be registered on a first come first serve basis for each course. The observers are entitled to attend the lectures and observe the dissections but will not participate in the dissection procedures. There will be two observers allotted for one dissection table. The observers will get an Observership certificate. The observers will be invited to the official Banquet.
What is the schedule for WSBF Fellowship?
In each of the modules, lectures will be in the forenoon and dissections in the afternoon. The Dissectors will be provided with the best and state-of-the-art equipment including high speed drills, high-definition microscopes and monitors giving the Dissectors an ‘in-theatre’ experience.
How the Hands-On Training of Skull Base Surgery will be done?
The hands-on training will be done on cadaver. The cadavers provided are fresh frozen and exclusively curated for the course with injections into the anterior and posterior arterial and venous systems.
What are faculties for Skull Base Surgery fellowship?
Faculty for the course are sourced both internationally and nationally who are practising Neurotologists and Cranial Base Surgeons. Over 40 top faculties, will be sharing their experience with the participants during WSBF Fellowship Diploma course.
How many dissectors will be there in WSBF Lateral Skull Base Surgery program?
World Skull Base Foundation brings together 10 Masters on a single dissection platform. Witness the Masters in magical symphony as they orchestrate their 360-degree dissecting skills
on the Skull Base Arena. Only 25 dissectors will be registered at the Fellowship on a first come first serve basis.

At the end of the WSBF Fellowship course, all the participants need to go through a written examination passing which they will be awarded fellowship certificate.
