Overview
The MFM Fellowship or Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship is an obstetrics-specific subspecialty for handling high-risk pregnancies which involves advanced education. this fellowship includes prenatal diagnosis, imaging, fetal surgery, obstetric genetics, and perinatal epidemiology. During the fellowship years, trainees oversee complex cases which include: multiple gestations, congenital anomalies, maternal medical complications with one or more fetuses requiring invasive interventions. The outpatient and inpatient teaching includes ultrasound as well as procedures (CVS and amniocentesis) along with academic work. The graduates are able to provide consultations and lead units in perinatal medicine as well as carry out sophisticated fetal operations and design clinical pathways for maternal-fetal medicine concerning their health.
