They assist with patient education, handle administrative tasks, and perform technical duties such as lens fitting and maintaining diagnostic tools. This role combines clinical and administrative skills to enhance the efficiency of vision care services.

Job Description
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity, depth perception, and color vision tests to prepare patients for the optometrist.
- Assist in fitting and adjusting eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper fit and comfort for patients.
- Maintain and calibrate optometric equipment to ensure accurate testing and diagnoses.
- Educate patients about proper eye care, contact lens usage, and maintenance.
- Record patient history, test results, and other essential information in medical records or electronic health systems.
- Support optometrists during eye examinations by preparing diagnostic tools and assisting with patient positioning.
- Manage inventory of optical supplies, including lenses, frames, and diagnostic materials.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle billing or insurance documentation.
- Clean and sterilize equipment and examination areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
