Novo Nordisk has launched the Wegovy drug in Germany. The Drug has shown to help patients reduce body weight by around 15 per cent when used along with exercise and some lifestyle changes. It is notable that 18.5 per cent of adults in Germany are obese. The treatment starts at €170 (₹15,370) a month and reaches €300 (₹27,130) since the treatment requires to increase the dosage slowly. The Public Health Insurance Plan of Germany which covers 90 per cent of Germans will not cover the bill of this drug. The drug is available in the United States where the it sells for as much as $1350 (₹1,11,116) per month.
