On 23 June 2023, the NMC published a Public Notice no. U.1 402 1/8/2023-UGMEB, subject to seeking comments of the stakeholders on NMC's Competency-Based Medical Education Curriculum regulations 2023 draft, which is proposed to be the new MBBS curriculum. The notice has been directed under UGMEB Director, Shri Shambhu Sharan Kumar, requesting stakeholders to send their comments to comments.ugregulations@nmc.org.in with MS Word or machine-readable PDF format within 30 days of this notice. The proposed draft is known as the “CBME Curriculum” and it is designed with the goal to create an "Indian Medical Graduate" (lMG) possessing the requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and responsiveness to ensure they function appropriately and effectively as a Physician of first contact of the community while being globally relevant.
