The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will begin its MBBS programme in 2024. The Institute's statement on the implementation mentioned that IIT Kharagpur is initiating a new dimension of its multidisciplinarity by starting the MBBS programme in Medicine at the BC Roy Institute of Medical Science and Technology. However, IIT-K ‘s MBBS programme might be different from regular MBBS as more technology will be incorporated into the syllabus. The students will be taught both Engineering and MBBS with more emphasis on Medicine. The institute is still awaiting the nod from (National Medical Commission) NMC.
