To increase the number of specialist doctors in India, The Union Ministry of Health & Welfare is planning to double the number of seats for Postgraduate medical seats in India. The Government is planning to increase the number by asking the private hospitals to increase the seats for DNB.  At present, there are 91,927 MBBS seats and 58,364 PG medical seats in the country.
