The Gujarat Clinical Establishment Act of the Gujarat Legislature gazetted on 22 May 2021, includes registration of all types of healthcare facilities like Clinics, Nursing homes, Hospitals, Diagnostics including Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani set-ups. Recently, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has started implementing the act phase-wise. In the first phase, AMC has started registering hospitals with 50 beds and above category, where hospitals will have to pay INR 50,000 as temporary registration fees and INR 2,00,000 as permanent registration fees. This act will be replaced the existing Gujarat Nursing Home Registration Act 1949, under which hospitals were applying for form-c registration.
